About a year ago, I was able to try out Barrio Bistro for the first time when I had dinner with some co-workers. This was one successful attempt after a previously failed one that sent me over to Trellis 'N Vines instead. But enough of that, I distinctively remember how much I loved their pizza, especially the Three-Cheese pizza that was one of the best I've tried to date.
Ever since then, I've been meaning to pay them a visit in order to try their pizza again, especially the Three Cheese Pizza. However, their original branch is not part of my usual route and a bit far from the workplace. That is why I never got around to that second visit. Until one day, as I passed by Duterte St. after work, I noticed this new dining spot beside Grub Resto Cafe, right across Shakey's. There were some staffs handing out menus along the street and it was then that I realize it was actually Barrio Bistro, which is their newest and second branch. That particular day turned out to be their new branch's grand opening, as well.
I made a mental note of trying it next time and that second visit finally happened this week. Their Buy 1, Take 1 promo is still offered at their Duterte Branch, which is a good deal, especially for those who wanted to get good quality pizza for a reasonable price. It is basically a steal as you get two pizzas for a price of one!

| Pizza Overload |
 |
| Dessert + Beverage Menu |
We ordered two pizzas - Pizza Overload and Barrio Overload. Both pizzas were sold only for Php 365 + PhP 10 for the takeout box because E & I obviously cannot finish them both. The Pizza Overload consists of the following toppings: marinara sauce, mozarella cheese, sausage, pepperoni, ham, onion, and mushroom. Meanwhile, the Barrio Overload is made up of my other favorite toppings: marinara sauce, mozarella cheese, mushroom, olives, onions, and bell pepper. Clearly, we like the "overload" type because I simply love pizza!
The thin and crisp crust of their pizzas is, in my opinion, what had helped establish Barrio Bistro as a favorite among Davaeonos. The crust is thin and crispy once cooked, yet it retains that savory and succulence with every bite that allows you to enjoy the flavor of the crust as it blends with the toppings. It isn't the best thin crust pizza in Davao (for me) but it is right up there among the contenders.
Also, I had to make a note of the vibrant and colorful ambiance at their new branch in Duterte. Their original branch was more simplistic, even regal look to their restaurant. This one is a bit more on the playful side with lots of drawings on the wall, colors that pop and a modern furniture.
If you find yourself craving for a Barrio Bistro pizza, you may now choose from one of their two branches: Lacson Street in Obrero and Duterte Street.

As a child, when I think of pizza, there is one restaurant that comes to mind - Pizza Hut. Without a doubt, this American brand has established its name worldwide as a pioneer and the go-to option for anyone looking for the best pizzas in town. The fact that I frequent this pizza parlor is a testament to my love for their freshly baked pizzas that never fail to keep my tummy happy with every visit. Even when I've had a few favorite Italian restos to satisfy my craving for a pizza, I still find myself going back to Pizza Hut.
Over the course of my visit to Pizza Hut, I've amassed a pretty decent collection of food shots. Just so you know, I am foodie at heart. But the blogger in me loves to chronicle every dining experience. Hence, I always keep my camera ready just in case an impromptu dinner happens and I can snap a few photos to chronicle each dine.
Read on after the jump to learn about my favorites from Pizza Hut (so far)...
Aglio Olio Pasta
Aside from pizza, Pizza Hut is also known for their delicious pastas. I have tried only a few but the Aglio Olio pasta has got to be a favorite of mine. The spaghetti is sauteed in olive oil and seasoned with garlic, anchovies and basil leaves. The sheer simplicity of this dish is the same reason why it's my favorite. Don't be deceived, though, as it packs a lot of flavor!
Meat Lover's Pizza
Pizza Hut offers a massive range of pizza toppings to choose from but for those who love meat, there is one that is suited best for you - the Meat Lover's Pizza. This one packs a lot of proteins with toppings consisting of the following: bacon, beef, ham, pepperoni, and pork. Who wouldn't want a bite?
Sausage Roll
When I ordered this appetizer during one of my visits at the Pizza Hut Gaisano Mall branch, I picked out quite a gem. Sausage Roll is as perfect as an appetizer can be! The dough is soft and savory, then on the inside you get a flavorful bite of the sausage. There is also melted cheese that goes with every bite, making it worth the PhP 115 price tag for four pieces.
Vanilla Pudding
This is the perfect dessert to end your meal at Pizza Hut. I've tried their ice cream ala mode before, but this one is my absolute favorite yet. This is a vanilla pudding that is warm and rich that is topped with cherry and sprinkled with a gooey and thick chocolate syrup. Ahhh, just thinking about this dessert makes me want to have one.
So far, the only thing that disappointed me was the Viva Lasagna Pizza. Maybe that's the reason they are no longer making them. It just didn't live up to the hype!
What's your Pizza Hut favorite? I'd love to hear them!
